With a goal of inspiring students to become successful, young business professionals, I taught high school business since 2015. Currently, I am in my second season working with the Florida Panthers, and serve as a Box Office Supervisor. Additionally, I am in my second season with the Miami Heat as a Box Office Representative. In 2016, I became the Founder/Owner of the Springfield Sting of the American Basketball Association. I am a graduate of American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts, where I received a B.S. in Business Administration and a Master's in Education. I have experience ranging from franchises in the American Hockey League to the National Football League, and most recently teaching high school business education. I have a passion for education, focusing in the subject area of business.
I believe business education is lacking in the United States, and if I can make a small difference by encouraging students to learn about areas such as entrepreneurship and personal finance, I know it will help them for the rest of their lives.
I have always been fascinated with sports business, and I write three blogs: SportsBusinessBoston.com, WesternMassSportsBiz.com and SportsBizAmerica.com. They are dedicated to the off-the-field stories that occur in sports.
I was born and raised in Western Massachusetts. Besides my interests of education and business, I also enjoy seeing concerts, playing golf, tennis and hockey, and spending time with my family and friends. I can always be reached at zachbaru@gmail.com.
